Of all the awards and recognition's, Pastor Livingston believes that serving a True and Living God is the ultimate reward. He has dedicated his life to the truth found in 1 John 1:7, “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all unrighteousness”. Therefore, it is “The Calling of God” on his life that energizes him to faithfully teach the Word, preach the Word, administer the Holy Sacraments, and apply all Baptist Ordinances.
Pastor Harold Livingston is the son of the late John A. and Hattie F. Livingston . He is married to the former Ms. Sheila Hill of Rocky Mount, NC. They are the parents of a son, Donovan A. Livingston. Rev. Livingston and his family reside in Fayetteville, NC. He has one sister, Patricia Livingston Michael and he is the proud uncle of Jermaine M. Michael.
Pastor Livingston grew up in Wagram, NC. He is a member of Spring Branch Missionary Baptist Church. His service to God and Spring Branch Missionary Baptist Church included serving as; Usher, Sunday School Teacher, Trustee(1982-1988), Chairman of Trustee Board, Deacon (1988 – 1995), and Secretary of Board of Deacons. On June 25, 1995, Pastor Livingston honored the “Calling of God” on his life by delivering his initial sermon (“Walk In The Light”, 1 John 1:7). He was ordained into the ministry of the gospel on March 18, 2001. Since that time, God has showered him with continued growth, grace, and favor.
Pastor Livingston’s formal education began in the Scotland County School System. He entered college at Fayetteville State University, Fayetteville, NC, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education (1973). His graduate work was done at the North Carolina Central University, Durham, NC. He earned a Master of Arts Degree in Educational Administration (1979). He received his Principal Executive Program Degree in 1993 from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He was conferred with his Doctorate in Educational Leadership in 2007 from Fayetteville State University.
His work experiences include that of elementary classroom teacher and principal in Hoke and Robeson County, NC. He has served as a school guidance counselor, assistant principal, and principal on the high school level in Hoke, Roberson and Cumberland Counties, NC. Presently. In the Scotland County School System, he has served as the Dropout Prevention Coordinator and Program Planner for Raising Achievement , School Improvement Consultant and Closing the Educational Gap among students.
Pastor Livingston has been very engaged in community affairs; and over the years he has received many awards and professional recognitions. These awards and commendations include: “Outstanding Young Educator”, (1975); “Distinguished Service Award- Hoke County Jaycees”, (1979) “Teacher of The Year” (1978, 1979, & 1980); “Principal of The Year”, (1991 & 1993); “School Improvement Award” – Principal Executive Program, UNC- Chapel Hill, (1993).
